- 1 pound dry pasta, such as spaghetti, penne or linguine
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 pounds mushrooms, cleaned, stemmed and minced, such as crimini mushrooms or white button mushrooms
- 1 (28-ounce) can marinara sauce
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish
- Chopped fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Fill large pot with salted water and bring to boil over high heat. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender and light golden-brown, about 8 to 10 minutes Stir in marinara sauce and bring to a simmer. Season with salt.
- Divide pasta between serving bowls and top with mushroom sauce. Garnish with Parmesan and basil. Serve and enjoy.

I make it all mushrooms and a little white wine or marsala. I always put pasta in the sauce to finish cooking. Never put plain pasta on a plate with a scoop of sauce!
I do the same with putting pasta in the sauce, better coverage.
I also add onions and peppers with the mushrooms to the sauce.
